  1. Here’s my problem with confidence. Confidence is based on a person’s beliefs and a person’s beliefs can be deeply flawed. So in other words a person could be confident who is basically wrong. What society seems to do is say “Oh they’re confident, that means that they’re correct because I believe what they believe”. Isn’t there a better way to measure a person’s value other than simply assuming that their beliefs are correct? I could be confident that the earth is flat but that doesn’t make it so. My confidence should mean NOTHING to an interviewer.

    Btw this is a rant on society not on Jeff.

  3. And, I agree with you. My point in the video (which I know you understand) is that hiring managers find confident people persuasive because a confident person inspires confidence within the hiring manager that they are the solution to what is being sought and allows them to remove the item from worry that they will have a problem with their management. It touches the manager at an emotional level.
